In looking at the destruction of the temple, Zerubbabel and the Jewish people were faced with the overwhelming task of rebuilding. They needed to see that their God was much bigger than the task at hand, so the Prophet Zachariah, sent by God, began to encourage them with these words, “For whoever has despised the day of small things shall rejoice, and shall see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel.” (Zachariah 4:10). Friends, many great things start usually with a small beginning. For example a church plant and a church restart.
Like the Jews returning from the captivity to rebuild the city and the temple, New Melle Baptist Church is in a restart and rebuilding mode. These are exciting times of renovation for our building and the spiritual lives of the members of NMBC. Therefore, we invite you and your family to join us in this rebuilding process, as we endeavor to fulfill the vision God has given us. Our vision is to be a church that helps people Encounter Christ, Equip the saints, and Engage the world with the gospel
Maybe you are not plugged into a church, but God has been tugging at your heart to serve Him with your gifts and talents somewhere. Perhaps you have been plugged in but just are lost in the big crowd, and you unable to explore and use the gifts and talents God has gifted you. Maybe you have even been wounded by a church experience and have decided to give up on God and being part of a church.
Whatever your situation may be we invite you to come join us as we restart and rebuild God’s work through NMBC together. Our focus is not to make people Baptist but rather to direct them into a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ and to make an eternal difference in the New Melle/Defiance communities and beyond. Don’t despise small beginnings because God has big plans which may include you. Looking forward to hearing from and seeing you and your family. Your friends at New Melle Baptist Church!
